SALVATOR ROSA (1615-1673) The Life and Times of the Painter, Printmaker, Writer, and Actor

A talk by

Helen Langdon has just published a new monograph on this fascinating and many-facetted artist.  Salvator Rosa was a painter of horror and mystery, of witches, savage landscapes, and arresting portraits. He also wrote satires, acted in street theatre and was a celebrity in 17th century Naples, Florence and Rome, his life as inventive and exciting as his art. Helen and Clare will share the day discussing Rosa and the context of the times in which he lived.
