John Florio Prize

The British-Italian Society co-sponsors the John Florio Prize, awarded biennially for the best English translation of a full-length Italian work of literary merit and general interest, published by a British publisher.

The Prize is organised through The Society of Authors,
84 Drayton Gardens, London SW10 9SB.
It was first awarded in 1963.

John Florio (London 1555-1625) was himself a writer and translator.
